The Sweetest Beginning
It was 1985 when Kamala Krishnan, a retired schoolteacher in Mylapore, began churning ice cream in her backyard to sell to neighborhood children. Armed with nothing but a hand-crank churn, seasonal fruits from her garden, and milk from the local dairy farm — she created magic.
Word spread fast. What started as 5 liters a week grew to 50, then 500. By 1995, Kamala's daughter Priya had taken over, modernizing the process without ever compromising the soul of the recipes.
Today, Scoops & Dreams operates 12 locations across India, serving over 2 million customers a year — but every scoop is still made with the same love, the same care, and the same belief: that the best moments in life are the simple ones, made sweeter.
Kamala starts selling homemade ice cream to neighbors from her backyard in Mylapore, Chennai. 5 liters a week, all love.
The first Scoops & Dreams store opens on Anna Nagar High Road. The queue on opening day stretched around the block.
Expansion to Bangalore and Mumbai. Introduction of the premium collection with imported Belgian chocolate.
Launched the fully vegan range, using coconut milk, oat milk, and cashew cream. Won the National Food Innovation Award.
Launched online catalog and loyalty program. Featured in top 10 ice cream brands of India by Food & Beverage Today.
12 cities, 50+ flavors, and still counting. Committed to zero-waste packaging by 2026 and sourcing 100% from Indian farms.

5% of all profits go to supporting local dairy farmers and rural education programs. Because sweetness should spread.
